According to retired international midfielder Rabah Madjer, it is practically impossible to imagine Angola not progressing to the knockout stages of the African Cup of Nations for the simple reason that they are hosting it.
““Angola are going to benefiting from everyoneâ€s support. Their people and their leaders, even CAF officials, wonâ€t accept a precocious exit of the hosts. Everything will be done so that Angola will get through the group stage,â€â€ he explained while speaking to Chaine II.
““That doesnâ€t diminish the qualit ies of this team that has plenty of good elements like Mantorras who is considered as one of the best players in Benfica and even in the entire Portuguese league.
Weâ€re going to have to pay him some special attention.â€â€ Meanwhile, the former FC Porto star added that he believes Algeria or Mali will be the team joining the Palancas Negras in the second round.
““The draw gave us a group where the second ticket to the knockout stages will be decided between Algeria or Mali, with all my respect to Malawi. Mali have very good individuals who are playing in some of the best European championship. This encounter is going to be an
explosive one. I donâ€t think weâ€ll do badly if we play our usual game.â€â€
