Amodu ‘ll lead us astray – Ikenya
By Ben Efe
Senate sports committee member, Joel Danlami Ikenya, said that Nigerians should not put their faith on coach Shaibu Amodu if they want Nigeria to do well at the 2010 Nations Cup and SA 2010 World Cup.
Senator Ikenya disclosed in an interview with sports journalists that the Committee and the National Sports Commission are bent on getting a suitable coach for Nigeria as the present technical crew of the Eagles lack the capacity to manage the team to success.

“We should not be carried away by the World Cup ticket. From all indications, we need an experienced coach, because Nigeria should not just go and make up the numbers at the tournament, but to perform well,†said the Senator in Abuja.
He added that the Senate committee and the NSC were bent on getting Nigeria a top class coach for the World Cup even as the Nigeria Football Federation has pledged to sink and swim with the embattled coach, who during the weekend ascribed Nigeria’s qualification to Pastor TB Joshua.
