Accord Party, AP, has condemned the defection of Senator Patrick Osakwe from the party to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, describing his comments against AP as untrue.
In a press release, signed by the National Legal Adviser to the party, Sikiru Oke and made available to Vanguard yesterday the party stated that it still remained strong, intact and growing stronger against all odds.
According to AP, “we condemn in strong terms Senator Patrick Osakwe’s disregard to the party’s constitution and laid down procedure and rules of doing things in an organised society.
“What the Senator did is against our party’s constitution and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We expected him, being a lawyer and ranking senator, to know better.
“We have, therefore, set a process in motion to explore all legal means possible to get the people’s mandate back from him.
“We appeal to our party members nationwide to stay calm and be law abiding. We also appeal to all Nigerians to pray for the speedy recovery of our dear President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.â€
