A YOUTH leader in Igbanke community of Edo State, Mr. David Olubor, has condemned the spate of kidnapping in the country, particularly the recent abduction of a prominent member of the community simply called KOB, who was only released after N10 million ransom was paid.
The youth leader, in a statement, also decried attempt to kidnap one Lady Lily in the community which was foiled by the police.
According to him, “police authorities have deployed a crack team to compliment the efforts of the CID in Benin who had earlier arrested a member of the syndicate.â€
The statement added that the police were on the trail of other members of the syndicate and urged the police not to relent “until the masterminds of kidnap-ping and murder of promi-nent indigenes are tracked down.â€
These developments, he further said, were not unconnected with alleged moves to make Igbanke community part of Ika in Delta State which was being resisted by some community members.
