LAGOS — A NEW stage play, Yoruba Romance, starring among others, Kate Henshaw-Nuttal and Yemi Adeyemi ‘Suara’ designed to disabuse the nation’s tribal prejudices is due for premiere on Saturday, at the Muson Centre.
Written and directed by Mr Tyronne Terrence of Rosewood Inc. The play is sponsored by Onga seasoning, a product of
Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell Milk and other consumables.
At a press briefing, yesterday, Mr. Terrence said the play, which is an adaptation of a Marriage Proposal, the 17th century Russian play by Anton Chekhov, is a hilarious comedy about the age-old mating ritual between man and woman.
According to him, “the play employs the use of different kinds of humour to explore some of the more deep-seated prejudices we have concerning inter-tribal relationships.
