The sachet milk category witnessed a new entrant as Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc introduced a 35 gram evaporated sachet to the market.
The company said that the objective of launching the sachet milk was to make evaporated milk accessible to more Nigerians.
Mr. Bob Steetskamp,Managing Director of the company said at the unveiling in Lagos that the technologies used in the manufacture of the product has never been used anywhere in the world. â€œIt is the first time evaporated milk is produced in a sachet, an undeniable result of the Nigeria-Holland relationship.
Continuing, he said, â€œthis has placed Nigeria in the centre of the world with WAMCO as the pioneer innovator. As an added advantage, this will generate employment for more Nigerians, thereby developing the economy.
Speaking, Mrs. SiskaÂ Schipper, Marketing Manager, explained that the new Peak evaporated milk sachet contains the same content and cream the evaporated milk in the 170 gram Peak has.
Her words, â€œ evaporated milk is generally considered the real milk, which many consumers cannot afford. With this, she said â€œconsumers who like the creaminess of evaporated milk but cannot afford a big tin of 170 gram will have access to the same quality with newly introduced Peak milk in sachet form.â€
She went further to say that feedback received from trade partners and consumers showed that the product would have significant impact with reaching out to more people.
On the product offering, Mrs. Dolapo Otegbayi, Innovation Manager, described Peak evaporated milk sachet as rich and creamy extra fortified, containingÂ 28 vitamins and minerals for stronger bodies and sharper minds, whilst stressing that a volume is sufficient for single use.
