ONITSHA—GOVERNORSHIP Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo has regretted that his state had been governed by inefficient people in the past, saying that he is in the gubernatorial race to change the trend.
He also declared that his wealth of experience makes him a better candidate for the state’s gubernatorial seat.
The former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), made this disclosure while addressing members of Onitsha Catholic Arch- Diocese Laity Council at Madonna Catholic Renewal Centre, Nkpo-Onitsha.
According to him, “give me four years and I will show you the direction. As a Catholic, I was thought to give service back to the society. I have been abundantly blessed by God and I want to spend the rest of my life for humanity and society. I have been everywhere.
I have been the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and many nations of the world are seeking my advise on how to go about the reform of their economies. Many state Governors in Nigeria have sought my knowledge on how to improve the lots of their people.â€
Professor Soludo maintained that mere application of hash punitive measures against criminals cannot solve the problem of kidnapping in the state.
“We will build a gigantic industrial village in Anambra State that would accommodate up to 3,500 small and medium scale companies and industries, which would be involved in manufacturing, processing and other services. Such a complex would have the capacity to provide employment to thousands of people,†he noted.
