Walid Atallah’s Flamboyant Collection At NYCW

Walid Atallah, a native of Beirut studied fashion design at the University of Chicago and started his fashion design career in Dubai. Noted for his deft use of crystals, Wahlid’s flamboyant creations are often generously sprayed with Swarovski crystals, precious stones and even diamonds.

In his first showing at the New York Couture Week, he presented a dazzling collection of evening and couture bridal gowns, which an expert has described as ‘a perfect fit in Couture Fashion Week’s continued quest for exquisite fashion.’ Mr. Atallah recently made fashion history by selling a bridal gown decorated with sapphires and rubies for $1.2 million to a Middle Eastern princess.

Of his flamboyant creations, usually laden with Swarovski crystals and precious stones, he says: “I just don’t simply scatter the crystals all over a dress. The key is to know how to use the crystals at the right place. People love the shine and sparkle of the crystals. The love for shine is not limited to people in the Middle East.

Now, with world going through a dark period, women will love to wear dresses that are elegant and glittering. My inaugural show at New York’s Couture Fashion Week recently was a huge success. Ladies in New York loved my gowns.”
