LAGOS—The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), weekend, conferred Vanguard Media Limited, as ”The Media with Best Coverage”, at the just-concluded Lagos International Trade Fair.Â
LCCI President, Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, who presented the award at the closing ceremony, yesterday, recalled that last year Vanguard Newspaper, won the prestigious award, and has again retained its reputation as the best print media in the coverage of trade fair news
LCCI also declared Lagos State as the ‘Most outstanding exhibitors at the fair.”
Indonesia also topped as the ‘Most Outstanding Foreign Exhibitors’ with 46 firms that participated, while The Guardian Newspaper was also decorated as the ‘Best Print Media’ at the fair.
He added that this year’s fair with the theme, “Turning the global economic crisis into new opportunities,†attracted 200 exhibitors locallly and internationally.
“We chose this theme to underline the point that even in a crisis situation, there are opportunities.
”A good entrepreneur would see opportunities where others see challenges, and would, in fact, transform the obstacles to stepping stones for higher profitability.

”Despite the daunting challenges of business environment, we have been able to host the fair successfully,†said Onafowokan.
He also hinted that next year’s edition of the fair will hold from November 14.
Chairman, Trade Promotion Board, Mr. Goddie Ibru, assured the trade fair community that the chamber would continue to preserve the profile of the fair as the flagship of trade fairs in the ECOWAS region.
“Our mission is to ensure the delivery of good value to our exhibitors and visitors and we are doing our best to live up to our bidding,†he said.
On a daily basis, Vanguard, through its Editorial and Special Project Unit, promptly and adequately fed the public, and the trade fair community about the products and services displayed at the fair.
