Sultan of Sokoto is 4th most influential monarch in Africa

The Sultan of Sokoto Sa’adu Abubakar 111 has been rated as the fourth most powerful and influential monarch in the African continent.  He is followed closely in fifth place by Africa’s longest reigning monarch and an influential Muslim leader in Nigeria Dr. Ado Bayero the Emir of Kano.

The report of the research conducted by International Corporate Research titled the Powers that be released Thursday, said “In the end, Swaziland’s King Mswati III is considered most influential being Africa’s only remaining absolute monarch. King Mohammed VI of Morocco is second on the list. The monarch a well respected international leader leads the Maghrebian nation almost as an absolute monarch.

Another national monarch Letsie III of Lesotho is third overseeing the affairs of the nation as a constitutional monarch. King Goodwill KaBhekuzulu of the South African province of Kwa-zulunatal and Ashanti King Osei Tutu II are sixth and seventh respectively, while the traditional ruler of Lagos-Nigeria’s Island city of Lagos Island follows in eighth place. The bottom two positions are held by Kabaka Mutebi II of Buganda, Uganda and Oba Samuel Odugade I the Olubadan of Ibadan Oyo state Nigeria.
