Siasia’s fears for Eagles, as Adepoju, Ikpeba think Tunisia

By Kate Obodo
As the Super Eagles take on the Harambee Stars of Kenya in the all important World Cup qualifier in Nairobi today, Flying Eagles coach Samson Siasia believes the  Eagles have what it takes to leave Nairobi with their pride intact.

The former Super Eagles striker was however quick to add that there are some loose strings in the team that need to be tied up. According to Siasia, the team would have gone far if certain things were put in place.

“The team is good but there are some problems in the midfield, attack and players’  commitment. If these things are taken care of, I believe they will defeat Kenya in Nairobi”, Siasia said.

The USA ‘94 Eagles forward said what is expected of  the Eagles is nothing but victory, adding that any thing contrary would amount to total disaster.

“Undoubtedly there is nothing more than victory. They are expected by the coach and Nigerians as a whole to win. Anything short of that is a disaster. They just have to defeat the Harambee Stars and wait for the out come of the Mozambique versus Tunisia tie,” Siasia added.

Another ex international and now General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan Mutiu Adepoju says Eagles fate does not solely depend on the  match against the Kenyans but in Maputo, where the Mambas will host Tunisia. Tunisia is the only team capable of kicking Nigeria out of the World Cup in South Africa and Adepoju sees the Maputo game as very crucial as well.

He however, advised that the  best approach to subdue the Kenyans  is to play with less  pressure which he believes would go a long way in giving them a good result.

“Defeating Kenya does not guarantee our going to the World Cup especially with the  fact that Tunisia is topping the Group. But we will have to win and wait for the match in Mozambique.
