‘Sharks Stadium will be ready in six weeks’
The Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye has given a 6 weeks ultimatum to Glempkem Nigeria Limited contractors of the Sharks Stadium and Peaceline Worldwide Nigeria Limited, handling the No 6 Field to complete work or face government sanction.
Hon. Iyaye said this during an unscheduled inspection of the ongoing projects. “We have been patient enough, government have long provided the necessary funds needed for the job completion, the contractors have no excuse now for the delayâ€.
According to him, the projects which were meant to have been completed by the beginning of the season have lingered on too far.
He warned the contractors to deliver projects as Rivers citizens are eager to play football and watch their fans on home ground.
The Rivers State Ministry of Sports is committed to handle all sporting activities for the government ensuring grassroots sport involvement and development and carries the state along for national and international sporting activities.
