GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole is in no mood yet to call the truce in his face-off with former chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Anthony Anenih, after he launched a fresh assault yesterday on political godfathers.
Oshiomhole, who spoke in Benin a week after the defection of some council chairmen and supervisory councillors elected on the platform of PDP to Action Congress, insisted that godfatherism was gone forever in the state politics.
His first verbal attack on Anenih, penultimate Saturday, forced the resignation of three of his commissioners who were nominated by Anenih.
But an undaunted Oshiomhole, receiving a Benin transporter, Chief Osamede Adun, at Urhokpota Hall, Benin, said: “We will do away with godfatherism where, if you want to contest as a councilor, you do not have to get endorsement from Uromi, Iyamho, Ogwa or elsewhere. Only your people can have a say on whether you can become a councilor of local government chairman.â€
