Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen AB Dambazau last weekend commended the corporate social responsibility activities (CSR) of Skye Bank PLC, describing the bank as a responsive and responsible financial institution that is always willing to give back to the society.
The commendation came on the heels of the supoort the bank lent to the Army College of Logistics in the areas of training and infrastructural development.
Skye Bank has so far provided resource persons to facilitate at the Army College of Logistics in addition to providing physical infrastructure to aid good teaching and learning.
Speaking at the commissioning of a new hall at the Army College of Logistics, renovated by Skye Bank, Dambazau, who was represented by Maj. Gen Abubakar Atofarati, enjoined other banks to take a cue from the many CSR activities of Skye Bank, with a view to making life better for Nigerians.
He said Nigerian Army will forever remain grateful to the management of the bank for deeming it fit to be part of the Force development, despite the global economic meltdown.
Speaking at the commissioning of the renovated Ogomudia Hall of the College, the Commandant of the College, Maj. Gen. Timothy Oloimogbe described Skye Bank as a financial institution with a difference, one with a clearer vision geared towards servicing the financial needs of customers in different parts of the country.
The Commandant said the bank has immensely identified with and supported the aspirations of the College. This, he stated, has unequivocally boosted the process of impacting knowledge in the students of the institution.
The mission of the College is to produce efficient logisticians using modern management techniques to plan and execute logistics support for the Nigerian Army in joint and combined operation at formation and higher levels. Every officer trained is expected to apply modern strategic management concepts appropriate to Defence logistics.
Oloimogbe assured that the graduates of the College are well equipped to effectively render services bordering on logistics wherever location they are posted to.
Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Skye Bank, Dr. Akinsola Akinfemiwa described the support of Skye Bank for the College as another avenue for the financial institution to meet the varied needs of customers.
