Nigerian Army holds confab

ABUJA—This year’s Chief of Army Staff Conference with the theme ‘Strengthening the Nigerian Army’s operational capabilities: An imperative for attaining national security objectives of the government’s 7- point agenda’, will hold in Lagos from Sunday 22nd November to Wednesday 25th 2009.
Consequently, principal staff officers, general officers commanding, strategic level commanders from formations of the Nigerian Army all over the world, are expected to converge on Lagos for the four-day conference.
According to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig-General Chris Olukolade in Abuja, the exercise is also intended to afford the leadership hierarchy of the army, to appraise all training and operational activities of the service in the outgoing year and make necessary projection.
President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua is expected to be the special guest of honour. The event will also feature the Senate President, David Mark, governors, academics, retired and serving military officers, legislators and other security agencies.
