ABUJA—The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committees yesterday disclosed that new set of Senior Advocates of Nigeria would emerge November 25, this year.
The Secretary to the Committee and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Alhaji Usman Musale who made the disclosure said the delay in appointing those to be conferred with the honour was caused by a plethora of petitions received by the committee from those who were aggrieved with the process of appointing SANs.
According to him, the committee received the highest number of petitions this year in the history of the award. He said that no petition was left unattended to.
According to him, the committee has set up a three-man independent committee to review the petitions and listen to those who were aggrieved in order to ensure that their complaints were addressed. Already 48 applicants had been shortlisted by the committee for interview.
Musale said the interview would be conducted on 18th and 19th of November at the Supreme Court.
