ENUGU—NATIONAL Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South East zone, Chief Olisa Metu says the zonal working committee of the party will work tirelessly to ensure that the party won the February 6, Anambra State gubernatorial election.
He said that the party will support its candidate and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Charles Soludo to emerge victorious in the poll.
He said that Soludo enjoys the support of the party at all levels despite criticisms of his candidature from various political camps in the state.
Metu, who spoke against the background of Monday’s decision by an Abuja High Court, vacating an earlier order that restrained Soludo from being recognised as the party’s flagbearer in the coming election, noted that the party was prepared to face other major contenders in the poll.
Noting that Soludo possessed better credentials than other candidates, especially the incumbent Governor, Peter Obi of (APGA) and the Action Congress (AC) candidate, Dr Chris Ngige, the PDP chieftain expressed optimism that the party would reclaim the state next year.
