Former Super Eagles defender Benedict Iroha hasÂ added his voice to the growing list of commentators who have called for the sack or retention of Super Eagles chief coach Shaibu Amodu.
He saidÂ the coach should be given theÂ opportunity to lead the team to the Nations Cup in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa next year, stressing that now is not right to call for Amoduâ€™s sack.
The former HollandÂ based player, believes Amodu still has the technical know-how to lead the team to the world stage and should not be denied the opportunity to enjoy the fruit of his labour.
Iroha stressed that it would be unreasonable if the football house should sack or seek for the assistant of foreign expatriate especially now that he has picked the ticket for the country.
He however, advised the NFF to focus more on how to rebuild the team and give them adequate preparation forÂ the task ahead.
â€œFor Christ sake he has done well by qualifying Nigeria for the Nations Cup and World Cup, what would any country like Nigeria want from him. There areÂ some countriesÂ who did not qualify for the World Cup but still kept faith with their local coachesâ€, he said
