UGHELLI — THE member representing Sapele Local Government Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya, has commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for his landmark projects in the state.
Igbuya made the commendation, yesterday, while fielding questions from Vanguard in Sapele.
He named some of the landmark projects to include, the International Airport in Asaba, Ughelli/Asaba road dualisation, additional wing in the Osubi Airport, trans Ode-Itsekiri Warri bridge, Abigborodo road, the AT & P bridge, Sapele, among others.
According to him, the administration of Governor Uduaghan and his deputy, Prof Amos Utuama, is committed to the develop-ment of all parts of the state.
Igbuya, who was two-time chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, also hailed the state government for creating employment for 5,000 Deltans in the State Post-Primary Education Board.
He said the socio-economic fortunes of the people of the state were being positively touched by Dr Uduaghan’s government and noted that over 3000 indigent Deltans have also been empowered through the State Micro Credit Programme.
Pointing out that youths of the state in particular were being made to be self-employed through the Micro Credit Scheme, Igbuya said very many rural dwellers were also being lifted above poverty through the scheme.
He, however, appealed to the governor to embark on the rehabilitation of the Ogorode road, Sapele.
He also decried that the bad nature of the road was putting too much pressure on the Okpe road and thereby causing serious traffic jam on the road.
Igbuya appealed to the people of the state to continue in their support for Uduaghan’s government, adding that the only way government could be encouraged to do more was to give it the needed support.
He told youths to shun any act that could jeopardize the peace of the state.
