Group refutes alleged funding by Presidency
ABUJA—The Yar’Adua For New Nigeria (YFONN) has dismissed the allegation that it is funded by the Presidency.
Secretary of the organisation, Dr Aminu Idris, in a statement yesterday said the group was formed by well-meaning Nigerians who believe in the principles of equity, justice and fair play.
He said: “The Group was set up by like minds not only to promote the laudable policies of President Yar’Adua’s government but also to canvass for and promote true democracy that is rooted in the rule of law, internal democracy of the parties, free, fair and credible elections, zero tolerance to graft, freedom of association and other such factors that guarantee the fundamental human rights of all Nigerians.â€
