Gas supply has improved, 600Mw realisable – Minister

PORT HARCOURT — MINISTER of Power, Dr Olaranrewaju Babalola, said gas supply to power stations round the country has improved. And with the current situation the projected 6000 megawatts was realisable.
The Minister who made the observation after his inspection of Okoloma gas and power station and Afam power station said it was a heart warming development.
“I am happy to inform you that there has been an improvement in gas supply to Omotosho and Sapele power stations in the recent times, even though we are still working hard to improve supply to more of the Independent Power Projects (IPP) stations.â€
He assured of government determination to ensure the nation enjoys improved power supply.
According to him, issues like funds that initially posed challenges to the system had been addressed.
