FG declares Nov. 26, 27 as public holidays
The Federal Government has declared Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27, as public holidays to mark the Muslim festival of Id-El-Kabir.
The announcement is contained in a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Press, Ministry of Interior, Mr. Stephen Nelson, in Abuja yesterday.
According to the statement, the Federal Government through the Minister of Interior, Dr Shettima Mustafa, wishes all Nigerians at home and abroad a happy celebration.
The statement advised all Muslims to use the period to reflect on the humility and teachings of Prophet Mohammed and to re-dedicate themselves to the Islamic injunction of piety, love and peace.
The statement urged all citizens to continue to pray for peace and progress of the country.
