ENUGU—GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has announced plans by his government  to link all the 17 local government headquarters in the state to the state capital with good motorable roads before the end of his tenure.

Chime, who made the disclosure during the campaign tour of local government areas in Enugu North Senatorial Zone (Nsukka Zone) ahead of Saturday’s local government elections in the state, said the government was determined to extend infrastructure to the rural communities, so that people at the grassroots would benefit from ongoing infrastructural provisions.

The campaign tour of the zone took the Governor, leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party to Uzo-Uwani,  Nsukka, Udenu, Igbo-Etiti, Igbo-Eze South and Igbo-Eze North Local Government areas, where he thanked the people for their confidence and trust in his administration. He urged them to vote massively for the candidates of the party in Saturday’s election.

He told party supporters that trooped out at the various local government headquarters for the rallies, that the task of developing the state into a model state calls for collective efforts of both citizens and residents of the state.

According to the Governor, “we see Enugu as one constituency. It is our wish, dream and target to link all our local government headquarters to the state capital with good roads before the end of our tenure.”
