Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State has called on the Muslim faithful in the state to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration to renew their spirit of obedience to the will of Allah.
In a good will message to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Ebonyi State and other parts of the country, Governor Elechi said that much of the socio-economic problems confronting the nation are traceable to man’s disobedience to the laws of the creator.
In a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Onyekachi Eni, Governor Elechi lamented that selfishness, corruption and general indiscipline have stunted the progress of the nation and called on Muslims and other religious adherents to take their faith seriously by practicing what their religion prescribe.
Governor Elechi commended the Ebonyi State Muslim community for their contributions to the development of the state and their peaceful co-existence with fellow Muslims and non-Muslims, adding that his administration will continue to pursue programmes and policies that promotes peace and inter-religious harmony.
