Brazil bury Nigeria on Dubai sand

Brazil produced a masterclass of Beach         Soccer as they swept aside Nigeria 11-5 in the Group D clash between the world and African champions.

The scoreline represented the day’s biggest margin of victory, the highest number of goals and the first time a side had reached double figures, so arguably the best was saved until last.

Remarkably, however, Nigeria caught everyone by surprise as they took the lead after 47 seconds through Isaiaka Olawale. But the lead lasted for only six seconds as Sidney leveled the scores for Brazil before team-mate Bueno made it 2-1.

After Brazil’s Buru missed a double chance, Victor Tale equalised for Nigeria but the scores did not remain level for long Benjamin restored the lead for his side with the best goal of the game, before two goals from Andre and Daniel made it 5-2 at the end of the first period.

Brazil continued with their dominance in the second period as they managed to add a sixth goal through Bruno and they should have added more, but the woodwork blocked the shots of Daniel and Daniel Souza before Sidney snatched a seventh.
The world champions continued their demolition in the third period and they added four goals through Bruno, who scored a brace to complete his hat-trick, Daniel and Betinho.

As O Seleção took their foot off the gas, Nigeria pulled three back through Tale, Olawale and Bartholomew Ibenegbo but it was still a routine victory for the South Americans.Today Brazil meet Bahrain in the day’s opening fixture, while Nigeria meet Switzerland.
