ABUJA—The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Micheal Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN) yesterday, refuted allegations that he was behind the leadership crisis presently rocking the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
In a statement by the Minister in Abuja yesterday, he denied insinuations in some quarters that he actually pulled the strings of discord that led to agitations by a section of the NBA to seek removal of the incumbent president of the association, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) at the forthcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled to hold in Enugu.
“The Federal Ministry of Justice categorically denies any involvement in whatever internal crisis that may be going on within the Nigerian Bar Association.
“The Ministry therefore wishes to advise officers of the association to amicably resolve whatever differences they may have so that all hand may be on deck in tackling national issues and in moving the nation forward,†Mr. Taye Akinyemi, the Chief Press Secretary to the AGF.
