Anabel slashes phone prices by 50%, unveils entertainment unit

AT the launch of its  pageant reality show in Lagos last week, smart phone maker, Anabel Group slashed its different range of phones by 50% as against its original price.

The price in phone reduction is part of Anabel resolve to make its products affordable to every Nigerian no matter their  income ladder.

Although the phone price reduction lasted only during  the unveiling of the pageant reality show, the  smart phone maker restated its commitment to provide to the Nigerian market and the rest of the West African sub-region indigenous phones that can compete with foreign brands in the market.

Anabel Group is  parent company of Nigerian’s leading mobile phone and first Nigerian hand held pocket computer and Smart phone producers, Anabel Mobile.

Anabel,   it was gathered,  launched the entertainment division to promote Nigerian and African talents in movies, music, art and the culture industry.

Anabel Entertainment unit, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company , Mr Nicholas Okoye told the capacity audience at  the event  is focused on production of World Class Music and Entertainment Events, Movie production and Television reality programs and documentaries.

Anabel, he said, would   retool   Nigerian talents in the entertainment industry in an effort to make them acceptable to international audiences in the United States, Europe and Asia. It would be recalled that the company’s ’s Marketing and Products Manager, Itohan Amusa- Eke had earlier said   that Anabel  will continue to support the Nigerian ICT market with its  quality products.

“We will also continue to promote the Nigerian entertainment industry, as we stated during our Launch that Anabel is a modern 21st century company borne out of the triple convergence of the Telecommunications Industry with Technology and Entertainment Industries.

“We are very passionate about the entertainment industry and we expect that industry to experience significant growth over the next few years, we are positioning to be a part of that growth and to raise the bar in terms of high quality World Class Movies, Music and Entertainment Events.

“Nigerian Our artists are doing very well in the Nigerian entertainment industry. It is our resolve to retool them to for cross over to the international market.

“They can compete with their counterparts in the international market if given the opportunity and the right exposure”.the company’s Marketing and Product Manager said.

She further stated that Anabel is passionate about made-in-Nigeria products whether they be hard products such as Anabel Smart Phones or Computers, intellectual content or artistic talent.

For one thing, the event  held at the   Genesis Deluxe Cinemas in collaboration with an international Movie Premier“Inglorious Bastards  starring Brad Pitt attracted  several  Nollywood celebrities o f which some of them will be receiving life time achievement awards in recognition of their contribution  the Arts and Entertainment industry.

It would be recalled that Anabel Mobile has been identified by the Federal Ministry of Information and Communications as one of the trail blazers in the direction of promoting Nigerian talent having launched the first Nigerian mobile phone and first Nigerian pocket PC and Smart phone that runs on windows mobile operating system licensed by the Microsoft Corporation.

Anabel CEO was recently named by the Minister for Information and Communications as a brand Ambassador for Nigeria’’s Rebranding initiative. Anabel presently produces professional series smart phones which are indeed hand held pocket computers, they also produce “”digital media devices”” which can play video, music, FM Radio as well as its ability to record voice and other sounds.

Anabel’’s digital Media device though are small and pocket sized can record your class room lectures or interviews for up to a year without upgrading the memory.

Anabel mobile is Africa’s first smart phone with value added services and functionalities  such as the Anabel Complete Mobile Office Solution which allows for ‘‘push and pull email’’ which has been the hallmark of the Blackberry device as well as other functionalities which include virtual Private networks and closed user groups, remote wiping capabilities and enterprise management systems.

The handsets are manufactured and distributed by Nigerian based startup Anabel Mobile. Anabel is expected to launch a free chat service in partnership with one of the GSM networks, effectively eliminating the edge held by Blackberry in that space.

The Anabel Smart Phone is said to be extremely stylish and very user friendly and runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1, which makes it compatible with any PC anywhere in the world that runs on Microsoft Operating Systems. It is rumored that the firm will be launching an ultra stylish design which is sleek and sophisticated expected to complete with the design of the iPhone, the new highly anticipated design has been on the drawing board for some months now and may be released before the end of the year. We hear the design is simply sweet and irresistible and will be the toast of many young executives.
