THE Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ondo State, Chief Oye Alademehin, is dead. Alademehin who hailed from Okitipupa Council area of the state was said to have died of cancer of the blood yesterday.
His death was confirmed by the Information Commissioner, Ranti Akerele ,who said the state government would issue a statement later.
Akerele described the death of Alademehin as painful and a great loss to the state government and the people of the state.
The rumour of his death rented the air since Wednesday after he was transferred from Mercy Specialist Hospital in Akure to another one in Lagos .He was a two term former member of the State House of Assembly under the PDP only to decamp to the Labour Party in the state after falling out with the PDP-led administration in the state.
He took ill few days ago and was rushed to a Specialist Hospital in Akure only to be relocated to another Specialist hospital in Lagos when his condition deteriorated on Wednesday.
Sources told Vanguard in Akure that plans were underway to fly him out of the country before he died yesterday.
His last outing was when he intervened in the face off between the Akure Monarch and the Kingmakers over the disposition of Oba Oluwadare Adepoju Adesina, the Deji of Akureland.
