Security beefed up in Yenagoa as govs meet

SECURITY was yesterday beefed up in Yenagoa  as the governors of the other 35  states  under the aegis of the Governors Forum arrived Bayelsa State Capital  for a two-day meeting. Armoured Personal Carriers, APCs, and patrol vehicles manned by men of the Nigeria  Police  and the Joint Task Force were stationed at the entry and exit points as well as other strategic locations in Yenagoa and  environs.

Reacting to the governors meeting, the Action Congress (AC) in the state, through the acting chairman, Comrade Miriki Ebikibina, called on the governors to use the meeting  to discuss and take a  stand on issues that will impact positively on the lives of the  people and the development of the nation.

And  in a  show of solidarity for the host  governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, some politicians from Sagbama and Ekeremor council areas of the state yesterday rose from a   meeting and announced their decision to adopt the governor for second term in the next governorship election.

It is blind person that will adopt a blind and corrupt governor for a second term. What has Sylva to offer? Except forcing Nembe people to accept Daukoru who brought a floating nnpc mega petrol station that has no fuel to Nembe to be their Amanyanabo and suspending all the foreign scholarship programmes that were operational before he took over.

Shame to a governor who does not understand that Bayelsa State needs education to be reckoned among the comity of states. He will never, never and I repeat never be the governor of Bayelsa State again.

That is the same yenegoa where common nigerians dwell everyday of their lives including blameless children without even a police dog as a heightened security measure for the people. Now, the so-called governors have just a two- day meeting and the defence ministry is being relocated to yenegoa. A depiction of their selfish interests and an unwillingness to impact any positive leadership. yet, some bunch of wolves are there announcing a decision to adopt the state govenor for a second term albeit the imbalance. They have already started plans to rig the 2011 elections again. What a shame!
