ABUJA – THE immediate past governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Soludo said, Thursday, that he was emboldened by the experience his father, Pa Simeon Soludo went through during his kidnap and subsequent release after nine days.
Speaking with Journalists in Abuja at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party’s candidate for the 2010 Anambra February 6, 2010 governorship election who noted that he was very excited on hearing the release of his father, said he gave glory and adoration to God, Almighty.
Professor Soludo who reiterated his readiness to serve the people of the state, said, that, “I’m very excited and I give all glory and adoration to God almighty. I think God has answered the prayers of millions of Anambra people and Nigerians. So, we simply say to God be the glory.
“We are emboldened by the experience that we passed through for the nine days he was in captivity. So we have resolved to serve Anambra and to serve Nigerians. And it has emboldened us also to make kidnapping history in the state and wherever we can find it.
“It’s a harrowing experience and you don’t wish that for your enemies. So to speak. But it brought home realities about insecurity of lives and property in the state and the need for all of us to rededicate our lives to make it better than we met it.
Answering question on whether he spoke with his father, Soludo said, “Yes I did. I spoke to him immediately he was released last night and we have also spoken this morning. I think he is frail and will probably need some medical attention.
On whether from his discussion with his aged father, if the latter could identify those who kidnapped him, the former CBN boss simply answered “ how will he know?
I think the Anambra People should stand behind Soludo; this is an opportunity, not only for the People of Anambra, but for the whole south-east.
Uba & co have consistently shown very bad exemplary behaviors to the younger ones, and should not be allowed to continue exhibiting such barbaric posturing capable of derailing the Rebranding Nigeria initiative of the Federal Government. Such attitudes of Uba and co are capable of truncating the much needed foreign direct investment.
Those non-Anambrarians who pretend to be in love with the Ubas and their cohorts should should invite them to become Governors in their states. Anambra needs Good Government. Soludo is the Answer.
what am saying is,the kidnaping of the old man is not real.becouse we have been hearing acase like that.and if it is true,what exactly did the kidnapers demanded form him befour releasing the dad.that is why i said every story about the episode is confusing.

pls allow prof. soludo to tackle the problem in anambra state. some one must come to our rescue and he has decided to do so. plz allow d man. or do u wnt anambra to go down just like that?
kidnapping that old man for monetory reasons is very bad, hi prof please since you are in the coridors of power tell them that the entire social security system is nearly non existent.
This is the time all the IROKOS in anambra state should come out and save the state from these foreign invaders.Ikemba has seen what could happen in the next few months and people were critising him,mr soludo jr a man of your calibre is messing up with local politice.You should have gone back to the university and wait until the right time to play politice or were you under treat by pdp bulldogs?It’s a good news that your father came back un harmed but don’t put the old man in another problem.
Ok guys , i have read all your comments some of us see the whole saga as stage managed by whosoever, every body is entitled to his or her opinion whats soever, but the facts remained that the old man was kidnapped by unknown gun men, its only the police can that questions , i believe that chukwuma is far far wiser than the whole uba’s . So the game plan is working well, he will be the governor come 2010, only jehova can stop him. Anambranians should brace up for a new dawn
