ENUGU—THE Enugu State Government, yesterday reiterated its commitment to the completion of ongoing infrastructural development projects in the state before the end of the current term of Governor Sullivan Chime.
It warned that contractors, who failed to executive their contracts up to the expected standards would be sanctioned.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, Mr Chukwudi Achife, who made this known in a chat with reporters in Enugu, said that the projects were designed to address the peculiar and pressing needs and challenges of people in all sectors of the state and in both urban and rural areas.
This he said, was in line with the Governor’s 4-point agenda, which is aimed at bringing about rapid and holistic development in all parts of the state within the shortest possible time.
He said that despite the hurdles posed by the lack of funds, the Governor had recorded a high rate of success and progress in his avowed bid to restore Enugu State to its past glory, adding that most of the dilapidated infrastructure in the state, had been upgraded while new ones are being put in place.

Kudos to my indefatigable Gov. Enugu is now working not on television and radio but people are giving testimonies. My town, Nsukka has never had it so good…thanks to our Gov. However, pls Adada water scheme initiated by Gov Nwobodo should be revisited to serve portable water to Nsukka area.
Thank you and may the Good Lord continue to enrich my able Gov with more wisdom
I can only say that Enugu state is blessed b y Gov Chime. He has really done well. Well done Iheanacho. This is the first time in my life I am proud of my Governor. He has our interest at heart. I came into Nigeria and my heart lept for joy when I entered Enugu.
However, we still have a lot to do.
Well done and keep it up.
Oga Senior Special Assistant, We need the roads in the city just like we also need them to our villages. Please find time to drive from Abakpa to Uwgogo Nike to have better understanding of what I’m talking about.
Kudos to Gov. Chime and his team for the good work in Enugu urban but my question is “when are we, the villedgers, going to benefit from this aggressive road rehabilitation programe?
Contractors handling major jobs in Enugu State should be up and doing so that the good work the Executive Governor is doing in Enugu State will not be jeopardized. Any contractor who shows signs of unseriouseness will be black listed and the job given to another firm.
Governor Chime we are proud of your achievements so far keep it up.
Hon. Senior Special Assistant, thank you for the roads your Boss has rehabilitated in Enugu urban. We can now drive within Enugu urban within 15 mins unlike when that terrible ma, Chimaroke was governor. But I have a question, when will the roads in Maryland layout be constructed? They have never been done for the first time. And the people who live there suffer so much during rainy season. When will the Ugwuaji-Expressway road be completed? That’s the road at the back of the Fed. Govt College, Enugu. Its been on for two and half years now. Finally, why will the Hillview road leading up to the formerly Loma Linda Estate be rehabilitated? Don’t tell me soon because I have heard that several time from the Hon. Comm for Works. I want a realistic response. Thank you!
