Don’t boo us if goals don’t come early, Obuh pleads

By John Egbokhan

Golden Eaglets    coach, John Obuh, wants Abuja fans to be patient with his team if goals do not come early in today’s tie. He said that strong will and teamwork would lift his team to victory in today’s second round match of the U-17 World Cup.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja, Coach Obuh said that New Zealand cannot stop his boys from reaching the quarter-final stage.
While sounding confident ahead of tomorrow’s match, the coach said he has instructed his boys to shoot down New Zealand.  “I have been working on these boys to make them beat New Zealand. The boys know that this match is a step forwards the final of this tournament. They know what is at stake and they are ready to give everything on the pitch.

This is a second round match but we are treating it as if it is our last game and we must do everything to win and put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”
The former Niger Tornadoes coach said further that he has warned his boys not to take their opponents for granted.

“I have told them that they should not take their opponents for granted because this is a football match and anything can happen. They must play this match with all seriousness and I believe that if they do so victory will be assured.”

He urged the fans to be patient with his boys in the event of lack of early goals, promising that goals would surely come as long as the support is unrelenting.

    Maybe don’t pray either.
Have you seen that the Mexican player that prayed before shooting the penalty kick was the only one that missed?
God doesn’t care about who wins or looses in soccer. Most Koreans have never set their foot in a Church or a Mosquee. They won regardless because soccer is about skills, hard work and luck. It has nothing to do with heavens or tons of prayers.

The eaglets are very good but very wasteful. The attacking is very blunt. I think this man needs to work on the forward!

Well, all we need as far as am concerned is nothing but GOALS. The way am seeing it early goal is will be seriously needed because any delay might danger our chances. My advice is that all hands must be on desk in order to encourage them both physically and spiritually. I strongly believe that with help of God they will come out victoriously. I wish they good luck.
