Abuja—The Senate is in no hurry to replace former Senator Iyiola Omisore as chairman of its Committee on Appropriation dashing the expectations of a reconstitution of the 53 Senate standing and special committees, it emerged yesterday.
Reliable Senate sources said Senator Ahmed Maccido, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, is expected to take over pending the re-election for Omisore’s Osun East Senatorial District.
Omisore’s election was nullified by the Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State, last Wednesday. It subsequently ordered a fresh election within 60 days.
The removal of Omisore was expected to create a vacuum that could have inspired the long-expected reconstitution of the Senate committees. Omisore had been the target of a subtle campaign by most senators who accused him of inefficiency, among other allegations.
However, no conclusive evidence was produced against him in the closed door sessions last year where some senators reportedly rehashed the allegations. Omisore, it was learnt, was helped by his unflinching sense of loyalty to the Senate leadership.

“Reliable Senate sources said Senator Ahmed Maccido, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, is expected to take over pending the re-election for Omisore’s Osun East Senatorial District”.
PDP is already certain that Osun East Senatorial District” will vote en-mass for Omisore by hook or by crook!
The President and the presidency past and present, the governors past and present, most members of the senate and House of Representative and state Asssemlies, past and present, top PDP members past and present, top military persons past and present are all afraid of the Freedom of Information bill (FIO). To crown it all there is no ghana must go bags going around. We must not loss hope by the very grace of The Almighty God, when these lots and rascals are sweept away, by the forth comming horricane from power by the people’s power and this will be without any violence, we will definitely have the (FIO) bill. We now know who the enemies are and their day of rekonning is at hand. Nigerians get ready to rejoice and be very merry, as The Almighty God has willed it. What The Almighty God has willed nobody or power and I mean nobody or power can stop AMEN!!!.
shame! shame! shame! the wicked will never go unpunished
All these election riggers and looters who parked themeself in Abuja and called themself senators. How can they replace Omisore when they already know that he will come back at all means? Shamefull Senators!!!! The country is getting worse everyday. Shame on you all !!!!
How can the Senate replace him, when they are very convinced ,that the evil cabal that put and selected, most of them in the senate will re select him again. This is Nigeria for you and what a terrible shame.
get the aligations cleared and make hima scape-goat just like alamisiagyagha and taffa balogun…EFCC should get prudent in their jugdement and not make this one of the files thrown under the carpet..naija oo ni bajee ooo…
shameless people..is it the senate that would replace him or he would have the decency to stay away…
Nigeria, who will liberate you? Tell me what does Omisore understand about Appropriation to make him indispensable in a Nation like you? How long will this cabal take you for granted? They have relegated you in the Comity of Nations, because mediocrity has been enthroned, with the fourth-eleven at the center stage. What would it cost Alhaji Umar to seek and field the brightest and best to redeem this country?
Ofcourse, leave the door open for him to return as much as the
rerun would be rigged. No wonder the sense of getting rid of
corruption would be impossible to implement so far elected
officers owe allegiances to individual rather than to the Nation.
What a lausy senators and Organized Crime syndicate ? Shame !
