The Police in Enugu have confirmed the arrest of six persons in connection with the illegal sale of match tickets procured by Governor Sullivan Chime for free distribution to spectators in the state as part of efforts to encourage the participation of the people in the on-going Under-17 World Cup tournament.
Enugu State Police Spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed yesterday that the suspects were arrested within the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium premises on Saturday during the last group matches involving Burkina Faso and Costa Rica on one hand and Netherlands and Iran on the other.
According to him, the suspects were caught selling the tickets which were part of the 10,000 that the state government bought at a whopping sum of N22.5 million, adding that they could not give a clear account of ticket booklets of various amounts found in their possession.
He said that the young men who had sold several booklets before luck ran out on them were apprehended by policemen in_charge of security for the tournament and detained at Ogui Road Police station, adding that they are currently being interrogated.

Is it not someone in the LOC of Enugu state that gave those guyz the ticket to sell… They should as well arrest those incharge of ticket sales in Enugu…
sometimes, they hide as shop owners or technocrats…well, lets say thank God they didnt have to kill their papa and mama or kiddnap their grandpa(pa. soludo)this time around… gov’fment/law enforcement agents should be considerate with dem since it is only tickets.
