SPORTS Minister, Sani Ndanusa, ended speculations over his interest to become President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC, when he collected, filled and returned the form at the secretariat of the NOC in Lagos yesterday.

Speculations have been rife over the Minister’s interest but his action yesterday put the rumours to rest. Elections of the NOC have been fixed for December 9 in Jigawa State. Ndanusa would vie against incumbent President, Habu Gumel.
please! Ndanusa should stop this nonsense with Ekeji. Sports is dying in that country and the so called sports minister is doing nothing to revive or improve any sport in the country. Ekeji just retired as a civil servant…so he can assume the post of director general for another 5 years after serving as a director for over 15 years.This fruaudulent act is fully supported by Ndunusa. Ndanusa is docile,Ekeji is full of himself,both of them equal FAILURE! We failed woefully in Berlin,the super eagles are now called turkey eagles.Next year is commonwealth games,less than a year,nothing is on ground in terms of preparation. The presidency must please wake up and bring real sports technocrates to run our sports business.

I strongly believe and support the candidature of the Hon Minister of Sport,because he is eminently qualified to lead the NOC.With his recent rebranding of the National Sports Commssion i am highly optimistic that the NOC will also receive this new air of positive reforms during his tenure.Sir you are welcome to NOC as the new president come 2010.
Yes, Engr. Sani Ndanusa has full right to vie for NOC leadership as a citizen, NTF president, CAT 1st vice president, CAT zone 2 president, NOC 2nd vice president etc. I believe as we know the man, he must have droped the his ministerial cap as he was entering the NOC headquaters to fill his form.
He has been in the sports politics for long, the ministership is temporary pray for him, allow him to play his bit for sports development in nigeria and indeed for the entire continent.
