ONITSHAâ€”Progressive Peoples Alliance(PPA) in Anambra state will tomorrow (Thursday) hold its primaries to elect its flagbearer for the 2010 governorship election scheduled for February 6.
Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Anthony Igboka dropped the hint while setting up five committees that would ensure proper mobilization of support for the party for the governorship election slated for February 6, 2010.
Igboka said the party needed to hold its primaries now to enable it prepare well for the campaign that would kick- off on November 8, as provided in INEC election time table for the Anambra state 2010 gubernatorial poll.
He said so far,Â six aspirants have paid for the nomination forms toÂ take part in the primaries, adding that the venue of the primaries would be announced before the date.
The aspirants are Mr Emeka Etiaba, Evangelist Ken Chukwuemeka, Okey Chikwendu, Mrs Uche Ekwunife, Dr Okey Eze and Dr Tom Meneakaya.
Setting up the five committees comprising contact and mobilisation, media and publicity, finance, disciplinary and security and intelligence, Igboka said the essence was to make sure that every party member was carried along in the scheme of things.
Members of the committees are Chief Emmanuel Odiegwu, Okey Araonu, J.C Igbokwe, Innocent Agudiegwu, Ifeatu Nwokedi, Ossy Afulukwe, Felix Obiora Okeke, Cosmas Anyichie, George Obidiaso, Steven Mbieli, Big Ben, Maduka Anusi, Onwubualil Boniface, Obidigbo Kanayochukwu, Henry Okwuchukwu Obi and Anakwenze.
