BENIN—A Chieftain of Action Congress (AC) in Edo State, Mr. Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, weekend accused the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of being unfair to the people, asserting that their stewardship in the past ten years in the state was a “disaster” in terms of infrastructural development.

Agbonayinma, who also is the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Foreign Matters/Diaspora, said the PDP in the state lacked the moral standing to criticize the policies of the governor since “they took us thirty years backward by wrecking the infrastructures and economy of the state when they were in power”.

The AC chieftain, who was reacting to the comment by leaders of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, while receiving Mr Ken Imasuangbon, a former governorship aspirant of the Action Congress (AC) who decamped to the PDP last weekend, that the AC-led government lacked the bite to move the state forward, stated that Oshiomhole inherited the rot which the PDP administrations in the state plunged the state into.

“If you look at the state now, you will notice a lot of changes as regards infrastructural developments.

“It is funny that the PDP went to Ewohimi to start criticizing the governor when they destroyed this state for ten years and Oshiomhole is just barely one year in office. Let us not play politics with every thing. This state was bastardized by the PDP for years and they should be ashamed of themselves.

“They are just crying because they never thought they would be voted out of office and that is why you see them crying every day. PDP has nothing to offer the people.

Oshiomhole has been concentrating on how to move the state forward and instead of licking their wounds quietly, they went insulting the governor.

“Let the PDP come and show us what they achieved in this state for ten years. The PDP leaders never wanted this state to move forward. But God removed them out of power and brought Oshiomhole who has the passion for success.

“Tell me what they will use to canvass for votes in this state in the next election. They have nothing to offer. And I want to say that the governor will not be drawn into unnecessary media war with them, but his work will speak for him.

“So let the PDP go and sleep, we will never allow them to take our people for granted any more.”
