The Chancellor, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Oba Oladele Olashore has blamed the Federal Government for the near collapse in the public educational institutions in the country with a call for a quick intervention.

Oba Olashore who is the Aloko of Iloko-Ijesha in Osun State, said the need to salvage the educational institution accounted for upsurge in the establishment of private educational institutions in the country.

His words, “we all definitely require a rethink and determine what exactly we want for the future of this nation. At the moment, the future looks bleak, if we continue to waste the potentials of many of our youths who pass through the public school system, and they constitute a larger proportion of students at all levels.”

He praised the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), founders of JABU for providing high quality academic and moral education that is in short supply in Nigeria.

Also speaking at the occasion, the President of CAC Worldwide who also doubles as Chairman Board of Trustee of the University, Pastor Elijah Olusheye said the church believes in tradition of academic freedom to enable the university carry out research for the good of humanity.

He assured that the council would continue to encourage the vision and mission of the university in its quest to better the society in line with the policies of its founders.
