Obi’s aide tasks women journalists on professionalism
By Vincent Ujumadu
AWKA — Chief Press Secretary to Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, Mr. Mike Udah, has charged members of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to revitalize it to make its impact felt as a professional body.
Speaking when the members of the State Executive of NAWOJ paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Awka, Udah regretted that the association had not made any appreciable impact.
He noted that women have peculiar attributes of making success of every venture and acting as catalyst on social issues.
He said it is important for the State chapter to participate actively in the 20th anniversary celebration of the association scheduled for next month in Abuja as the Obi’s administration emphasizes participation by all groups on issues that affect the State.
The Chief Press Secretary recalled how the present administration resuscitated the collapsed state sports structures and harnessed talents that have been reckoned with in the country.
He cited the impressive performance of the Anambra state contingent to the Sports festival in Abeokuta, adding that the State won 86 medals.
Udah assured members of the delegation that their request for assistance would be extended to the relevant authorities.
