LAIF 2009: Insight wins 28 Awards

Insight Communications Limited, the Creative Advertising arm of the Troyka Group at the just concluded Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) won 28 awards from the various categories it got nominated for.
According to Mr Funmi Onabolu,Chairman, President, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) said the award is to recognize creative excellence,  improve the quality of creative craft and help to promote the spirit of healthy competition and applying global best practices.

He also stated that LAIF which is the brain child of AAAN came on stream under the immediate past Executive Board of the Association, which maiden edition was held in 2006.

Onabolu noted that this year’s awards which is the fourth, has a new addition to the creative awards,’’the association partner with SIAO Consulting(an international integrity and assurance firm)to authenticate the judging process as free and fair.

Mr. Jimi Awosika, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Insight Communications Limited, said, “these award have fully established Insight Communication as global creative force in the marketing communication sector, stressing, “It is also a validation of our belief in Never-Ending-Thinking, which is our prime tool for inciting the market for result for our clients’ brands.”
Also the Executive Director of the agency, Mr. Kayode Oluwasona, commended the organizers of the awards and also noted that this year’s awards has proven once again that Insight Communications is a force to be reckon with in the industry.

Out of the 20 categories of entries which includes; Television, Press, Outdoor, Radio, Digital/Interactive Media, Best Use of Media, Consumer Choice, Special awards, Food and Consumables, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare, Bank, Investment and Financial Communication, Political, Public and Social Communication, Telecom Service, Corporate Image, Petroleum, Oil and Gas, Automobile, General Hardware and Ads that never ran; Insight Communications won a total of 28 awards out of the 60 keenly contested by the nominated agencies. Each category has three (3) awards attached; Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Insight Communications won Gold in the the following categories: Corporate Image (BankPHB),Radio(BAGCO),Ads that never ran(Macleans); Won Silver in Press Category for Amstel Malta.At the awards, five organizations were honoured for their continued support to the development and growth of creativity in particular and the advertising industry in general.Also, in the individual category, Mr Sylvester Moemeke, Chairman, Lowe Lintas and Mr Bola Akingbade, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, MTN Nigeria were inducted in to the Hall of Fame of the Awards.
