Kano â€” As part of the effort to boost water and electricity supply to the people, the Kano State Government, yesterday, inaugurated the boards of the two parastatals.
They are the stateâ€™s Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, which has 10 Directors and the Rural Electrification Board, which has 13 Directors.
Inaugurating the boards, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso, urged the board members to ensure that water and electricity were made available to people in all parts of the state.
He charged the new board members to effectively guide their parastatal agencies on the recruitment of staff and training of workers as provided for in the civil service rules and regulations.
Kwankwaso, who stated that the choice of the boards members was purely on merit, asked them to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them by Gov. Shekarau.
Responding on behalf other members, Alhaji Ammani Inuwa,Â Chairman of the Rural Electrification Board assured the state government that they would do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.
