OWERRI—Imo people have been urged to develop a friendly relationship based on mutual respect for the continued peace and progress of the state.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Ada Okwuonu, made the appeal at the Central School play ground, Itu, at the inauguration of the Ezinihitte Mbaise chapter of New Face Organisation (NFO).
She represented Governor Ikedi Ohakim at the event. “There is every need for people to avoid divisive tendencies and work together for the maximum support of the present administrationâ€, she said.
She condemned politics of blackmail and the ‘pull him down’ syndrome inherent in the nation’s political system and appealed to the citizens to embrace peace, unity and progress as their watchword.
Speaking earlier, the NFO Director General, Chief Elvis Agukwe, noted that the Deputy Governor had contributed in no small measure to the peace and development of the state.
He also appealed to the people of the state to use NFO to address the problems confronting the area.
