GAS: Oando Marketing introduces new LPG retail innovation

OANDO Marketing Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading oil marketing retailer and a subsidiary of Nigeria’s Energy giant Oando PLC, has recorded a landmark achievement in the Oil and Gas industry as it debuts with the launch of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) dispensing pumps at its retail service stations recently.

This innovation, involves on-the-spot dispensing of LPG using a pump meter into the customers cylinders and instant collection of gas and cylinder by the customer from the station of purchase. The gas dispensing pump is equipped with modern day technology which enables it to fill gas cylinders of different types and specification ensuring no customer is exempted from enjoying the benefits of this initiative.

According to the Group Head of Corporate Communications Mr Niyi Olowola the key benefits of this initiative to customers are as follows: availability, Available at designated Oando service stations near the customers, Competitive pricing, simply within the customers means which makes it affordable.

Flexibility: This simply entails that customers can buy what they can afford per time, depending on cash available and not cylinder size, Equipment is also kitted with a meter to give customers precise measure and value for money which brings about accuracy. Added Value: Customers would also enjoy free cylinder checks and services on purchase, Safety is also of paramount importance and the Oando products and services meet safety standards and regulations.

This is the first phase of the deployment plan with the service at 10 Oando service stations in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna. Subsequent phases are scheduled for later in the year which will see deployment of this innovation to additional 20 Oando service stations nationwide by year end. With this initiative, Oando Marketing is bringing respite to Nigerians gas customers who up until now have had to live with several challenges associated with gas purchase.

This initiative is in partnership with BannerGas, an engineering construction and maintenance company with expertise in gas storage facilities.

Commenting, Mr. Sade Lawal, Head Retail, Oando Marketing said “Our commitment is to give existing and prospective LPG customers a convenient, safe means of gas dispensing, purchase at a price they can afford while they still get to keep their cylinders.

With this innovation, we have not only succeeded in achieving that but also guaranteed refill of gas cylinders of various types and specification with this equipment”.

To support this initiative, Oando Marketing would also be injecting over 20,000 units of Oando cylinders of various sizes by year end to meet increase customer demand for the product.
