Perhaps reacting to the outcry of outright abandonment of the Golden Eaglets in the on-going Fifa Under-17 World Cup, the FCT Minister of State, Chuka Odom, last night made available 40,000 tickets to fans to watch the Eaglets against Honduras today at the Abuja National Stadium.
The tickets have been distributed to the vendors that have been involved in the sales of the match ticket since it was released for sale in different outlet in the Abuja metropolis.
An inside source from the FCDA indicated last night that arrangements are being made to compensate the patriotic few that have bought their tickets before the Odom bonanza.
Meanwhile, the huge tournout in Kano yesterday impressed all and lifted Nigeria slightly in the eyes of owners of the game who had decried the empty stands during the opening games in Abuja Saturday.
But a power failure during the USA-Spain match cast a big slur on Nigeria and the LOC. The match was held up for few minutes for the flood lights to come up again. It almost took the shine off the centre with great attendance.
