FIFA U-17: MTN to provide IT support for DAAR Communications

DAAR Communications  Plc has announced the partnership of MTN Nigeria, for a successful coverage of the U-17 World Cup kicking off this month. Daar Communications, owners of RayPower FM radio station, African Independent Television (AIT) Network, AIT International UK, AIT International USA and DAARSAT the new Satellite multichannel platform, entered into the partnership with MTN in furtherance of FIFA requirements for effective coverage of the tournament.

According to the terms of the deal, DAAR Communications Plc will utilise MTN Business;  MTN’s comprehensive range of solutions, focused on assisting businesses realize their full potential by availing them of an array of productivity-enhancing communications solutions; to enhance internal and external communication for the duration of the tournament.

Specifically, MTN will be providing an ultra high speed network   between the eight stadia where the games will be played, as well as high speed internet connectivity and voice communications facilities. The solution will enable real-time, world-wide broadcasting of the games and provide world-class communications facilities for the journalists covering the games.

DAAR Communications Plc Chairman, High Chief Aleogho Dokpesi said: “We have chosen MTN to partner with us on this very important project after a rigorous process.
