Mr. Eseme Eyibo, a member of the House of Representatives, says the 6,000 megawatt of electricity targeted by the Federal Government is achievable by the end of the year. Eyibo, representing Eket Federal Constituency, made the observation on Monday in Uyo at a media parley with the Correspondents†Chapel of the Akwa Ibom Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
“This is achievable because the Federal Government has deployed the necessary machinery to achieve the objective and with the militants out of the way vandalism of gas pipelines will be drastically reduced,â€â€ he said.
Eyibo said he was confident that the post-amnesty arrangement would be handled properly to allow for peace in the Niger Delta region. He, however, appealed to the government to handle the issue of kidnapping with care, and called on the public to expose the miscreants in the society by cooperating with security agents.
