MAKURDI — Men of the Benue State Police Command have apprehended a three-man gang who specialises in snatching cars in the country.
The suspects who were nabbed at a routine Police check point in Makurdi town are Noah Onoja, a 25-year-old school drop-out; Godwin Aduma, 27, and Augustine Odeh, a 21-years-old security guard.
They were said to have conspired and snatched the car from an Indian expatriate in Kaduna State and were on their way to Cross River State before their arrest.
Parading the suspects, the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, said the criminals were arrested at the Air Force Base in Makurdi with a Peugeot 206 model car with number plate KD 196 MKA which they snatched from the Indian national.
Mohammed attributed the arrest to the stop and search embarked upon by the state command across the state with a view to reducing crime rate to its ebb.
