Onitsha—Anambra State Government has distributed drugs worth over N80million to voluntary agencies hospitals and the primary healthcare centres in the state, Commissioner for Health, Prof. Amobi Ilika has said.
Speaking yesterday with Vanguard, the Commissioner said, 45 voluntary agencies hospitals and 21 primary health care centers benefitted from the government largesse, adding that the drugs were part of the Millennium Development Goals(MDG) programme.
“The essence of the drug distribution is to ensure that there was no out-of-stock syndrome, as was the case before the coming of the Obi administration.
Anambra State government places health on its priority list and we have distributed these drugs to the agencies hospitals to make sure that they reached the poor at the grassroots,†the commissioner said.
