BENIN —THE National Chairman of Action Congress (AC),Chief Bisi Akande, former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu and other leaders of the party, will on Saturday, storm Benin City for a rally to receive decamping Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the state.
According to the party leadership in the state, the rally will see to the end of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Retti Uzzi, said the rally, tagged “Political Earthquake”, would receive the top leaders and elected officers of the PDP, which include about five local government chairmen, House of Assembly members and some leaders of the PDP from the 18 local government councils of the state.
According to Uzzi, the rally is organised in honour of top leaders and elected political office holders on the platform of the PDP in the state who were expected to use the occasion to formalize their cross over to the AC.
Uzzi, who said the rally scheduled to hold at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the Benin metropolis, would draw people away from the PDP, to the extent that only a few persons would remain in the party after the rally.
“Majority of them said they are tired of the tyranny, injustice, high-handedness of the leaders of the party.
“The rally is historic because it marks the final burial rites of the PDP in Edo State. The cross over of PDP members in the state to the Action Congress is unprecedented.

I believe all comments were sen by the same person via different names. If PDP can celebrate Imasuangbon’s defection why wont AC celebrate. Adams will not join PDP. PDP is not united so let AC take over. What is happening is as a result of the forced jaguda swearing in of Dan Orbih. One man is playing god trying to control everything so people who are not happy are free to move
This is indeed politics without an ideology.Shame on these politician.
This is the begining of news things in Benin!
it is a new era.
It is written, politicians are just prostitutes. They follow the group with the present money and dump the one that even brought them to lime light just cos of been arround the corridor of power even if it will not lead them to the main seat. Its AC time anyway so PDP should feel the minority path and also present the next minority leader in the house. What a pity.
I am not a politician anyway but I think people are now becoming aware that PDP is not a party for the masses. PDP has failed Nigerians in every aspect of governance, there is no where PDP won their election without rigging, no where. I congratulate these wise men/women who have seen their future in AC. Congratulations!
