Soludo’s father kidnapped

By Enyim Enyim & Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA — THE worry of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate for the February 6, 2010 governorship election in Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, was yesterday deepened, as  his 78-year-old father, Pa Simeon Soludo, was kidnapped in his home town, Isu-Ofia, in Ekwuluobia, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chukwuemeka Emeka, and  the Divisional Police Office of the area, Mr. Bang confirmed the incident to Vanguard. Emeka said Policemen have been dispatched to the area to investigate the circumstances leading to the kidnap of the septuagenarian.

This is coming even as 15 governorship aspirants of the party in the state, yesterday, in Awka, insisted that they would not accept the candidature of the former Central Bank governor, saying he is a stranger to the party.

At a well-attended rally by a faction of the party loyal to the acclaimed godfather of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Uba, the aspirants who spoke one after the other, insisted that Soludo is not the PDP Governorship candidate and urged the national chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor to intervene immediately in the governorship crisis of the party in the State if the party hopes to win the February 6, 2010 election.

The aspirants said the aim of the gathering was not to attack any person, but to fashion a way forward for the party.

According to Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, who is one of the aspirants, without peace in the party in the state, the issue of governorship would not be resolved, adding that everybody needs to come together in the interest of the party.

For Prince Osita Ezenwa and Princess Kate Egwu, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor should intervene urgently, hoping that by December 7, the issue of the candidate of the party would have been settled.

Chief Basil Iwuoba commended Chris Uba for playing the lead role in making sure that Soludo was removed as the PDP Governorship candidate for Anambra.

Also, another former chairman, Uche Emordi, Mike Nkwocha, Chief Okey Odunze and the man that got the judgment against Soludo at the Abuja Federal High Court, Valentine Ozoigbo attended and also spoke during the rally.

“We are determined on Soludo being removed as the PDP candidate and allow the people of the state and party to choose their candidate through due process,” said Ifeatu Obi Okoye, a former state chairman of the party.

For Osy Ezenwa, “we have been seeing professors.  His own is not the first and they should stop intimidating the people of the state with professorship. We should stand firm until the ritual of congress is performed in the state.”

Surprisingly, Chief Uba did not speak, but he kept nodding as others spoke.

It is very obvious that Nigeria has being turned into an animal farm where there is no rule of law.Every one behaves the way they like.Kidnapping is not a campaign or an electoral principle.Leadership is a call and not a show of ignorance and folly.Anambra state had produced the most besieged governor in the chronicles of Nigeria history,Gov Obi.He was three times removed and three times reinstated. But his example had shown that the people’s mandate reigns supreme. No matter how rich a man is,his wealth and its benefits are limited to his family and if need be to his country.Politics is a human relation and not a system of cannibalism, thuggerism and lootes.Who ever is not destined to rule can never, can never, and can never be a ruler. No man can force himself on another.PDP had caused more harm to Anambra people.I am only worried of the lives of these young men who are used to perpetrate these harms, their souls are enslaved.I think these boys should ask themselves a question;why wouldnt these party chieftains use their sons and daughters to carry out these kidnappings? They took their sons and daughters to Europe and America for sound education and public life, while using the sons and daughters of poor families for their acts. The youths of Nigeria must rise against evil in Anambra State. No man is lord for another.

Chris Uba kidnapped Pa Soludu and why is the police wasting time in arresting this criminal and put him behind bars. His antecendants showed a similar game with Chris Ngige, and he burnt Anambra state for his selfish desires. The handi works of Obasanjo are still in prints. For an illiterate like Chris Uba to rub shoulders with Professor Soludu is an elegant testimony to the degree of rot Obasanjo left behind.

Chris Uba should be arrested and put behind bars untill Pa Soludu is released without any harm. His rantings in The Guardian not withstanding. I hope we have trained psychologist in the Nigerian police force; weho can sieve the chaff from the seeds. Uba kidnapped Pa Soludu and no other person; he has done it before by kidnapping Chris Ngige.

Chris Uba, the street urchin cannot be a live to see professor Soludu be a Governor; he wants some body he can control. I hope Yar’Adua will cut this idiot to size. Anambra is not the property of Chris Uba, Anambra is not his estate. This idiot should stop disgracing Ndi Igbo with his jungle style and politics, Obasanjo style.

Am sure that, the same people that abducted Ngige are at work again. That is the only language they understand. They believe they have invested so much in Anambra’s PDP,so nothing must stop them from recouping their money.anyway may blames goes to Soludo who has not fail to disappoint those who held him in high esteem. I ask, is PDP the only platform by which he could realise his dream of governing Anambra?.what is he doing in the mist of half educated and opportunistic billionaires?must he loose all his dignity just bcos he want to be governor?. Pls soludo think twice and don’t make it a do or die affair.we that believe in you need u alive and with all ur dignity intact for better things in our nation.
